Classic Canadian rock coast-to-coast. Bill and Dave have been a fixture of Techapalooza, bringing home the Fan Favourite Trophy year, after year, after year!
This year Bill and Dave will be showing us how Canada Rocks and Rolls, from coast to coast and along the way!
Port 54-40
Port 54•40 is a Canadian rock tribute band dedicated to showcasing the best of Canada’s musical legacy. Through their “Made in Canada Rock Showcase,” the band delivers a high-energy performance that captures the spirit of classic and alternative rock from across the decades.
Depeche Modem Eh?
Canada produced some amazing, video friendly bands and we intend to showcase them along with their iconic videos, classic clips, VJs and pure nostalgia from the 80’s. Giant (you might say Big Shiny?) pop/new wave hits, hidden gems, and maybe a twist or two with Canadian and even Winnipeg connections. A multi-media presentation that is sure to fill the dance floor and have the crowd singing along.
Canada Life’s Great Big C++
Great Big C++ is a a high-energy ensemble of IT professionals who believe that the best way to debug life is with a bodhrán, a banjo, a whistle and a room full of people singing at the top of their lungs. Their sound is pure kitchen party: joyful, rowdy, and irresistibly danceable. With them, fiddles meet foot stomps, and every chorus is a call to raise your glass, clap, dance, sing along to familiar east coast Canadian favorites, and join the fun.
Canucktivity
Canucktivity is all about celebrating the rock anthems that connect those moments between game play, bringing fans together in cheering for their home team!
From the classic “Hockey Night in Canada” theme song (with a twist) to a crowd engaging chant of “Burn it to the ground”, Canucktivity will take you back to the feelings you get while you watch that “Good old Hockey Game”, because seriously… It IS the best game you can name!
Moorisette’s Law
What happens when Gordon Moore’s silicon prophecy meets Alanis Morissette’s lyrical therapy? You get “Moorissette’s Law”, Techopalooza’s latest charity-powered supergroup. Our theory? Emotional expression and amplifier wattage both double every 24 months. Armed with the “Jagged Little Pill” songbook and a backstage full of IT pros moonlighting as musicians, we’ll decode irony, compile catharsis, and output pure 90s brilliance.
Reckless Saints: Dot C Eh?
Reckless Saints band members are dedicated, hardworking, and good at what they do; from powerful drums and bass to killer guitar riffs, to unforgettable vocals, you’ll be begging for an encore. A joyous, high-energy musical force for positivity, Reckless Saints’ number one commitment is connecting with as many people as possible while giving back to the community. Guaranteed you’ll dance, you’ll sing, you’ll have a great time, and so will the band. After all what could possibly connect people more than music!?!
